COD Black Ops Multiplayer Maps tips and tricks Cracked Map Tips for Call of Duty Black Ops Multiplayer Cracked Map Tips and Tricks

General COD Black Ops Cracked Map Tips Description

This map is quite large and is essential a bunch of urban buildings that have been torn up due to war. Most of the buildings are two story, some are three. There are MANY different locations to hide, snipe from, sit, wait, watch… what have you. I’m going to do my best with this map but I encourage you to do some running around yourself to help you grasp the scale of this one.

As with each of my Call of Duty Black Ops Multiplayer Maps tips posts I suggest you load up a private match with only you in it to run around and orient yourself with the marker locations and to discover exactly what I’m talking about.

Cracked Map Tips Marker 1

Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 1. This is one of the primary starting spawn points for the multiplayer map Cracked on Team Deathmatch and Mercenary game modes.
I’ve seen this spawn point be in a few different locations. I don’t know if they have changed it or if it has always been in a few random locations, but these are the locations that I’m aware of. The marker 1 on the right side can sometimes be to the south of the right marker 1, or to the north east. From the left marker 1 I see most of the action take place at marker 11. Marker 11 is raised ground so marker 8 and marker 7 have limited views to the opposite sides. I advise setting up at marker 10 or marker 9 or making your way to the left or right of these markers to flank and ambush enemies. As with any main conflict location, be aware of Tactical and Lethal grenades. From the right marker 1 most clashes occur at marker 6, coming out of building 5, or on the north side of marker 6 to the north east. There are a few locations that can serve you well in this location, most of which are at ground level and fairly obvious cover points.

Cracked Map Tips Marker 2

Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 2. This is another primary starting spawn point for the multiplayer map Cracked on Team Deathmatch and Mercenary game modes.
Marker 2 is the most common starting location for this side of the map. As mentioned in the description of map marker 1, most people rush toward marker 11 for the first wave of fighting. There are usually a bunch of Tactical and Lethal grenades in this area that can earn the other team the first kill very quickly, stay alert. I’ve seen some players break to the west side of the map to try to flank the enemy, and others break toward marker 3 to try to procure the high ground at the building just to the left of it. If you don’t mind dieing, rush toward marker 11 and watch for movement on all sides. If you want to play it safe, setup in the building at marker 4 or move to marker 3 and keep an eye out for enemy movement.

Cracked Map Tips Marker 3

Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 3. This is a fairly well traveled area for its strategic advantages.
The building to the left of marker 3 has 3 levels with a nice sniping post on the top floor. The bottom level has 4 entry points from outside, one on each side of the building. The second floor has 3 entry points, one from the building to the right of marker 3, one from a ground level accessible box on the north side of the building, and a stairwell running up the center of the building. The top floor is only accessible via a separate stair case accessible on the south side of the second floor. This building has numerous strategic advantages and can become a hot point for contention amongst certain players. Using the ‘crows nest’ on the third floor will give you a great view of building 5, the street north of building 5, marker 6, the building to the right of marker 6, and down the street to the east. You can also see in the eastward facing window of building 4. A decent technique would be to place a Claymore mine at any one of the ground level entry points or at the singular staircase heading to the third floor. For those of you who use motion sensors, I would plant one in the north east corner of the building on whatever floor you have easiest access to. This will give your sensor a great view of the comings and goings of the building. The building to the right of marker 3 has two floors. The first floor is accessible from the north and south and is fairly wide open with good opportunities for cover toward the east wall. The staircase toward the north leads to the second floor which also has an exit / entrance to the second floor of the building to the left of marker 3. There is a window on the second floor of this building which is ‘almost’ as beneficial as the crows nest without being as vulnerable. I would recommend dropping a Claymore mine either on the stairway or on your side of the bridge between the two buildings. Dropping a motion sensor by the window can help you locate enemies in the building to the left of marker 3 as well as watch for enemies coming toward your location. It’s important to note, however, that the bridge connecting the buildings on either side of marker 3 is open to the air as well as to the ground. You can jump off of this bridge to the ground level to get out of a dangerous situation quickly, or you may be able to catch enemies running underneath it off guard.

Cracked Map Tips Marker 4

Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 4. This building acts as a great over-watch area for marker 11 and awards good cover while still giving you access to view the south, east, and west.
This location is primarily used for its south facing window allow the player inside to keep watch over marker 11. You also have a decent view of the street to the north of building 5 and building 5 itself. From the east facing window you can see quite a bit of the building to the left of marker 3, including a portion of the third floor which includes the crows nest. Enter the building from either the stairway on the east side or via the boxes on the south side. Drop a Claymore inside the doorway to ensure no one sneaks up on you or throw down your motion sensor anywhere to get a great view of the building and it’s surroundings. One thing I would like to point out is that this building is quite small. This makes it dangerous if an enemy starts grenade lobbing in the windows.

Cracked Map Tips Marker 5

Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 5. This is another large building with two entrances on the first floor and three entrances on the second floor. The first floor entrances are on the north and south sides of the building and the second floor has two entrances on the east and one on the the west side of the building. The second floor has a main corridor and two rooms, one in the north east corner and one in the south west corner. The room to the north east is vulnerable from the crows nest in the building to the left of marker 3 but otherwise has a great view of the street and the buildings to the left and right of marker 3, and marker 8. You can also see both of the windows on building 4. A word of advice, however, when you first come upon this window check the crows nest for an enemy as he will already be looking down toward your direction. The room to the south east is more of a balcony than a room. It provides views of building 9 and markers 11, 7, and 10. It has a doorway out to marker 11 which makes it somewhat vulnerable or strategic, depending on how you use it.

Cracked Map Tips Marker 6

Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 6. Dangerous, open location which players sometimes love to run through.
This is a wide open courtyard with reasonable cover locations but is surrounded on all sides by raised locations. Strategically speaking, this would be called the ‘kill zone’. That being said, players still use this area and it should never be overlooked for enemies. The building to the east of marker 6 has a few good cover spots which can award views of the buildings to the left and right of marker 3 as well as locations to the south. In my experiences, using this building as anything other than brief cover while moving from north to south, or south to north ends badly. If someone is keeping you suppressed in this building from the crows nest or any other identifiable area, use one of the windows to pick them off before moving on your way. Don’t stay in this building for long, however.

Cracked Map Tips Marker 7

Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 7. One of the primary battle locations at the start of a game.
At the start of the game this is where most people who spawn at the left marker 1 run to. They sometimes rush the hill (marker 11) and sometimes stay in that general area under cover. Regardless of what enemies (or you) do if you find yourself at this location, be sure to keep your eyes open, as there are likely enemies in area.

Cracked Map Tips Marker 8

Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 8. Just as marker 7, this is one of the primary battle locations for the start of a game.
Just read marker 7 and apply for this marker as well. Proceed through either of these areas (marker 7 or icon cool Map Tips for Call of Duty Black Ops Multiplayer Cracked Map Tips and Tricks with caution.

Cracked Map Tips Marker 9

Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 9. This is a good strategic location to watch over marker 11.
This building has two floors that are completely unrelated. In order to get from floor 1 to floor 2, you have to go outside. Floor 1 has 3 entrances, one south, one north, and one east. This floor is a great way to move undercover and can have good spots for watching over the action at marker 11. The 2nd floor has two entry points and two windows. The first entry point is the stairway on the east side of the building and the second is the from the ground level into the westward facing window. To use this entrance, a player needs to first jump on top of the broken down car and then over to the awning under the window. The player can then enter through the window or lay prone on the awning to have a good view of marker 11 and 7 while possibly not being expected to be in that location by the enemy. The north facing window of the second floor has a great view of marker 11, building 5, the building to the left of marker 11, and marker 7. Placing a Claymore mine on the stairway up to the second floor would be advised. Also, dropping your motion sensor anywhere in this area will allow you to see what’s coming. Also, you may want to consider dropping your motion sensor on the first floor underneath the room above. This may make enemies with the hacker perk (able to see enemy equipment) from knowing your exact location.

Cracked Map Tips Marker 10

Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 10. This broken down ‘half building’ has two floors with good views from either of the second floor windows.
There are two primary entry ways to this building, one on the east and one on the west. This building is open to the air and to get to the second floor there is a pile of rubble built up to allow access on the east side. You can also jump and pull yourself up from almost any point on the ground floor. There is an east opening and a west window which both face north. The east opening allows a great view of markers 7, 9, 11, and building 5 as well as the street. Placing a Claymore mine on the east side at the corner of the first floor would be a good idea. The west window gives you a decent view of the building to the left of marker 11, but primarily gives you access to view the entire western corridor of the map. With both of these locations, I recommend a motion sensor to help you stay aware of your surroundings.

Cracked Map Tips Marker 11

Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 11. This is where the largest clashes occur, in my experience.
Marker 11 is raised ground and wide open to large portions of the map and tons of good cover positions. If you walk here, you will likely be seen by an enemy. However, if you’re only focusing on getting kills, come to this location and keep watch, you’re sure to find someone. To be completely honest, I recommend avoiding marker 11. Instead, watch it from one of the surrounding marker locations and pick off the ‘brave’ (dumb) players that roam into the area.

Safe Airdrop Locations

As a general rule, I have found that it is usually safest to throw out an airdrop marker at one of the match start spawn locations. For some reason, action usually doesn’t occur in these areas. Another rule of thumb would be to wait until you or someone on your team has a Spyplane up. This will allow you to see most of the enemies locations to make sure there are none nearby.

COD Black Ops Multiplayer Maps tips and tricks Array Map Tips for Call of Duty Black Ops Multiplayer Cracked Map Tips and Tricks

General COD Black Ops Array Map Tips Description

This map features a large dish in the center of the map. The dish is located on top of a building with a few exits and entry points at either end and at different locations within the structure. There are various windows facing north, west, and east which give anyone within the building a decent view of those portions of the map. Also, there is a tunnel running underneath the structure which acts as a quick movement space from one end of the structure to the other. As with the majority of Call of Duty Black Ops maps, Array has walkways running around its edges and various other walkways running through the middle.

As with each of my Call of Duty Black Ops Multiplayer Maps tips posts I suggest you load up a private match with only you in it to run around and orient yourself with the marker locations and to discover exactly what I’m talking about.

Array Map Tips Marker 1

Array Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 1. This is one of the primary starting spawn points for the multiplayer map Array on Team Deathmatch and Mercenary game modes.
You will know you are spawning at marker one because you will see a crane to your right (marker 7) and a silo to your left. From this spot, most players rush toward marker 3 to engage enemies at marker 4. Another common tactic is for players to turn to the left when the get to marker 3 and head into the dish building (marker 9). Some others may go toward marker 11 and head down that artery looking to engage enemies that have opted not to head for marker 4 directly.

Array Map Tips Marker 2

Array Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 2. This is another primary starting spawn point for the multiplayer map Array on Team Deathmatch and Mercenary game modes.
From here, most players rush just to the left of marker 4, just below marker 4, or to the right of marker 4 and watch for people to run by or their heads to pop up at marker 3. Another tactic is to head toward marker 10 and into the dish building. Some players will run by marker 10 and head to up the main artery of the map, and I’ve seen a few people head for marker 5 to try to get around behind the enemy, and you may see a few people head to the tower that is just to the left of marker 8 for some sniping action.

Array Map Tips Marker 3

Array Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 3. Hotspot with decent cover. Vulnerable to attacks from the north and west.
There are a lot of Tactical and Lethal grenades flying in these areas so watch out. Just to the right of marker 3 there is a Jeep and a concrete divider that can be used as cover that will allow you to keep an eye on marker 4. One big mistake I see people make at marker 3 is they don’t keep an eye inside the dish building and they don’t keep track of what is going on behind them. If you spawn at marker 2 and head for the dish building, be aware that you can probably catch people off guard by flanking their position at marker 3.

Array Map Tips Marker 4

Array Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 4. hotspot with good cover. Vulnerable from the east and north.
You will see both Tactical and Lethal grenades being thrown in this area, so be on the look out. To the right of marker 4 is something resembling a propane tank and two 55 gallon drums that can be used as cover. That being said, the large propane tank can explode if it takes enough damage. Below marker 4 is a snow vehicle which can make for quite excellent cover. I’ve seen people crouch beside it, get inside the bed, and sometimes lay prone on the vehicles tracks. Directly on marker 4 is a doorway to the building that you can stand just inside and get a view of marker 3. To the left of marker 4 are two concrete barriers which act as good cover. A large issue I’ve seen with people at marker 4 is their inattentiveness to watch their backs, and people coming from the direction of marker 10. If you find yourself coming upon marker 4 from the east (direction of marker 2) or from the north, be sure to check for enemies aiming toward marker 3.

Array Map Tips Marker 5

Array Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 5. Sniping location with great view over field to the east and with excellent cover. Vulnerable from the wast.
This location is commonly used by snipers or as an artery to try to flank or get behind enemy forces of either side. It favors those coming from the west side of the map, however.

Array Map Tips Marker 6

Array Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 6. Great spot to lay in wait with decent cover in the form of being able to get out of sight.
This is a house / building that is in the process of being built. There are studs and a rudimentary structure in place which provide little cover, but decent hiding spots to get out of view. Primarily this location is used to watch for enemies traveling past marker 11, using marker 11 to gain entry to the dish building, or for enemies within the dish building itself via one of the windows. You also can get a decent view of the south side of marker 3. Some players may retreat to this spot from marker 3 giving you a clean shot.

Array Map Tips Marker 7

Array Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 7. Sniping location with limited view, limited cover, but good camouflage.
This location is commonly used by snipers or by players laying in wait for their enemies. This is a crane which has an upper deck that players can get on (not well known). You can also lay on the tracks of the crane. It allows for a good view of the building at marker 6 and marker 3. The colors of the crane (the steel and frost) can act as excellent camouflage.

Array Map Tips Marker 8

Array Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 8. Sniping location with great view over field to the east and south with good to no cover at all. Vulnerable from all directions, depending on exact location.
This location is commonly used by snipers or by players laying in wait for their enemies. There is a tower just the left of marker 8 which allows players to be elevated above the field and to see into the dish building at marker 9. You can get into the tower via a ladder on the north facing side of the tower. Being in this tower affords you little to no cover / protection. There are a few garters in the tower, but they are very thin. There is a larger support which runs up the center of the tower which may be your best option for cover. Staying below the tower there are large boulders which can be used quite well for cover, however, you sacrifice the great view afforded by being in the tower.

Array Map Tips Marker 9

Array Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 9. The dish building has several entrances and exits as well as windows and a tunnel running underneath.
The dish building had an entry point north of marker 3. Upon entering from this location you can turn left and enter a separate room which features a window facing south-west (toward markers 1 and 7) which is a great way to catch enemies heading to marker 3 off guard, and a tunnel to the right in the room which connects to marker 10. You can also go through the window to get out of the building. The tunnel is used quite a bit throughout the course of a normal match making it a great place to drop a Claymore mine. Turning right after entering from marker 3 gives you access to the main dish building which is circular. As I explain these rooms, keep in mind that each doorway works great for dropping a Claymore mine. Tuck it just inside the doorway with the lasers facing toward the entry way. The first room has a large window with an access point into the building at marker 11. It is also vulnerable to attack from the building at marker 6 and the surrounding area. There are a few desks and computer stations which can be used as cover in this room and it affords you a great view of the entryway you just came through. In this room, I commonly will drop my motion sensor at the far east end as it gives a good readout if someone has entered the building from the other direction or if someone is moving through the tunnel. It can also ping enemies entering the room from marker 11. Moving to the next room you will see that they are both quite similar, one window with desks that can be used for cover. This room is vulnerable from the tower at marker 8 and various other locations at ground level depending on how closely you stand to the window. Moving to the next room you will see that it is a bit smaller and has a window facing the east side of the map. This window is vulnerable from the building at marker 4 and from the ground. It is also a great point to watch for enemies making their way to or from marker 4. Moving to the next room you will see that it is a stairway. On the bottom level there is an entry / exit point at marker 10. To the center at the bottom of the stairs are some boxes which can be used as cover that will allow you to ambush enemies moving into or out of the building. Turning left once reaching the bottom of the stairs gives you access to the other end of the tunnel which will spit you out at the west end of the dish building.

Array Map Tips Marker 10

Array Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 10. One of the dish building’s primary entrance and exits. It also allows quick access to the tunnel running underneath the complex.
Marker 10 is covered in greater detail under the description of marker 9. When you enter the building at marker 10 take a peek at the staircase, as players like to hide there, to the left of the cylinder / center of the room, and to the doorway to the right. I’ve had players lay prone in the entryway to the tunnel in the past.

Array Map Tips Marker 11

Array Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 11. This is a great resources if you have an enemy hiding out inside the building.
Marker 11 is a little known entry point to the building. Using the boxes here you can boost yourself up to peer into the window and gain a decent view of this room. After reaching the top box and watching (and listening) for enemies inside, you can enter the room and clear it out. If you are inside the room, a great way to know if someone is coming in through this window is to listen for them. I’ve heard a lot of people’s grunts as they get onto the box, and the twanging on metal as they enter the room. They make for an easy target when they cannot fire a weapon because they are in the process of entering the window.

These Tips for Call of Duty Black Ops Multiplayer Maps will give you some pointers to help you learn where each map’s hotspots are. Remember, however, the majority of these Tips for Call of Duty Black Ops Multiplayer apply to Team Deathmatch and Mercenary Multiplayer game modes. These Call of Duty Tips and Tricks may not apply well for CTF or FFA game modes for example as different game modes require different tactics to win and perform well. Here is a brief summary of what I will cover in this post:

Map Hotspots

These are the map locations where most of the action takes place. These Black Ops Tips and Tricks will help you determine where on a map most action takes place so that you can be more cautious in those areas and so that you know where to go to get more kills.

Cover Spots

Cover spots are places on a map that allow you to have a good view of a hotspot or map movement artery. This is not to be confused with camping spots (which I am all for by the way). Cover spots are to be used relatively briefly as once an enemy sees where you killed him from, you have lost the element if surprise.
