General COD Black Ops Cracked Map Tips Description
This map is quite large and is essential a bunch of urban buildings that have been torn up due to war. Most of the buildings are two story, some are three. There are MANY different locations to hide, snipe from, sit, wait, watch… what have you. I’m going to do my best with this map but I encourage you to do some running around yourself to help you grasp the scale of this one.
As with each of my Call of Duty Black Ops Multiplayer Maps tips posts I suggest you load up a private match with only you in it to run around and orient yourself with the marker locations and to discover exactly what I’m talking about.
Cracked Map Tips Marker 1
Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 1. This is one of the primary starting spawn points for the multiplayer map Cracked on Team Deathmatch and Mercenary game modes.
I’ve seen this spawn point be in a few different locations. I don’t know if they have changed it or if it has always been in a few random locations, but these are the locations that I’m aware of. The marker 1 on the right side can sometimes be to the south of the right marker 1, or to the north east. From the left marker 1 I see most of the action take place at marker 11. Marker 11 is raised ground so marker 8 and marker 7 have limited views to the opposite sides. I advise setting up at marker 10 or marker 9 or making your way to the left or right of these markers to flank and ambush enemies. As with any main conflict location, be aware of Tactical and Lethal grenades. From the right marker 1 most clashes occur at marker 6, coming out of building 5, or on the north side of marker 6 to the north east. There are a few locations that can serve you well in this location, most of which are at ground level and fairly obvious cover points.
Cracked Map Tips Marker 2
Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 2. This is another primary starting spawn point for the multiplayer map Cracked on Team Deathmatch and Mercenary game modes.
Marker 2 is the most common starting location for this side of the map. As mentioned in the description of map marker 1, most people rush toward marker 11 for the first wave of fighting. There are usually a bunch of Tactical and Lethal grenades in this area that can earn the other team the first kill very quickly, stay alert. I’ve seen some players break to the west side of the map to try to flank the enemy, and others break toward marker 3 to try to procure the high ground at the building just to the left of it. If you don’t mind dieing, rush toward marker 11 and watch for movement on all sides. If you want to play it safe, setup in the building at marker 4 or move to marker 3 and keep an eye out for enemy movement.
Cracked Map Tips Marker 3
Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 3. This is a fairly well traveled area for its strategic advantages.
The building to the left of marker 3 has 3 levels with a nice sniping post on the top floor. The bottom level has 4 entry points from outside, one on each side of the building. The second floor has 3 entry points, one from the building to the right of marker 3, one from a ground level accessible box on the north side of the building, and a stairwell running up the center of the building. The top floor is only accessible via a separate stair case accessible on the south side of the second floor. This building has numerous strategic advantages and can become a hot point for contention amongst certain players. Using the ‘crows nest’ on the third floor will give you a great view of building 5, the street north of building 5, marker 6, the building to the right of marker 6, and down the street to the east. You can also see in the eastward facing window of building 4. A decent technique would be to place a Claymore mine at any one of the ground level entry points or at the singular staircase heading to the third floor. For those of you who use motion sensors, I would plant one in the north east corner of the building on whatever floor you have easiest access to. This will give your sensor a great view of the comings and goings of the building. The building to the right of marker 3 has two floors. The first floor is accessible from the north and south and is fairly wide open with good opportunities for cover toward the east wall. The staircase toward the north leads to the second floor which also has an exit / entrance to the second floor of the building to the left of marker 3. There is a window on the second floor of this building which is ‘almost’ as beneficial as the crows nest without being as vulnerable. I would recommend dropping a Claymore mine either on the stairway or on your side of the bridge between the two buildings. Dropping a motion sensor by the window can help you locate enemies in the building to the left of marker 3 as well as watch for enemies coming toward your location. It’s important to note, however, that the bridge connecting the buildings on either side of marker 3 is open to the air as well as to the ground. You can jump off of this bridge to the ground level to get out of a dangerous situation quickly, or you may be able to catch enemies running underneath it off guard.
Cracked Map Tips Marker 4
Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 4. This building acts as a great over-watch area for marker 11 and awards good cover while still giving you access to view the south, east, and west.
This location is primarily used for its south facing window allow the player inside to keep watch over marker 11. You also have a decent view of the street to the north of building 5 and building 5 itself. From the east facing window you can see quite a bit of the building to the left of marker 3, including a portion of the third floor which includes the crows nest. Enter the building from either the stairway on the east side or via the boxes on the south side. Drop a Claymore inside the doorway to ensure no one sneaks up on you or throw down your motion sensor anywhere to get a great view of the building and it’s surroundings. One thing I would like to point out is that this building is quite small. This makes it dangerous if an enemy starts grenade lobbing in the windows.

Call of Duty Black Ops Strategy Guide :: Must See
Cracked Map Tips Marker 5
Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 5. This is another large building with two entrances on the first floor and three entrances on the second floor. The first floor entrances are on the north and south sides of the building and the second floor has two entrances on the east and one on the the west side of the building. The second floor has a main corridor and two rooms, one in the north east corner and one in the south west corner. The room to the north east is vulnerable from the crows nest in the building to the left of marker 3 but otherwise has a great view of the street and the buildings to the left and right of marker 3, and marker 8. You can also see both of the windows on building 4. A word of advice, however, when you first come upon this window check the crows nest for an enemy as he will already be looking down toward your direction. The room to the south east is more of a balcony than a room. It provides views of building 9 and markers 11, 7, and 10. It has a doorway out to marker 11 which makes it somewhat vulnerable or strategic, depending on how you use it.
Cracked Map Tips Marker 6
Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 6. Dangerous, open location which players sometimes love to run through.
This is a wide open courtyard with reasonable cover locations but is surrounded on all sides by raised locations. Strategically speaking, this would be called the ‘kill zone’. That being said, players still use this area and it should never be overlooked for enemies. The building to the east of marker 6 has a few good cover spots which can award views of the buildings to the left and right of marker 3 as well as locations to the south. In my experiences, using this building as anything other than brief cover while moving from north to south, or south to north ends badly. If someone is keeping you suppressed in this building from the crows nest or any other identifiable area, use one of the windows to pick them off before moving on your way. Don’t stay in this building for long, however.
Cracked Map Tips Marker 7
Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 7. One of the primary battle locations at the start of a game.
At the start of the game this is where most people who spawn at the left marker 1 run to. They sometimes rush the hill (marker 11) and sometimes stay in that general area under cover. Regardless of what enemies (or you) do if you find yourself at this location, be sure to keep your eyes open, as there are likely enemies in area.
Cracked Map Tips Marker 8
Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 8. Just as marker 7, this is one of the primary battle locations for the start of a game.
Just read marker 7 and apply for this marker as well. Proceed through either of these areas (marker 7 or
with caution.
Cracked Map Tips Marker 9
Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 9. This is a good strategic location to watch over marker 11.
This building has two floors that are completely unrelated. In order to get from floor 1 to floor 2, you have to go outside. Floor 1 has 3 entrances, one south, one north, and one east. This floor is a great way to move undercover and can have good spots for watching over the action at marker 11. The 2nd floor has two entry points and two windows. The first entry point is the stairway on the east side of the building and the second is the from the ground level into the westward facing window. To use this entrance, a player needs to first jump on top of the broken down car and then over to the awning under the window. The player can then enter through the window or lay prone on the awning to have a good view of marker 11 and 7 while possibly not being expected to be in that location by the enemy. The north facing window of the second floor has a great view of marker 11, building 5, the building to the left of marker 11, and marker 7. Placing a Claymore mine on the stairway up to the second floor would be advised. Also, dropping your motion sensor anywhere in this area will allow you to see what’s coming. Also, you may want to consider dropping your motion sensor on the first floor underneath the room above. This may make enemies with the hacker perk (able to see enemy equipment) from knowing your exact location.
Cracked Map Tips Marker 10
Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 10. This broken down ‘half building’ has two floors with good views from either of the second floor windows.
There are two primary entry ways to this building, one on the east and one on the west. This building is open to the air and to get to the second floor there is a pile of rubble built up to allow access on the east side. You can also jump and pull yourself up from almost any point on the ground floor. There is an east opening and a west window which both face north. The east opening allows a great view of markers 7, 9, 11, and building 5 as well as the street. Placing a Claymore mine on the east side at the corner of the first floor would be a good idea. The west window gives you a decent view of the building to the left of marker 11, but primarily gives you access to view the entire western corridor of the map. With both of these locations, I recommend a motion sensor to help you stay aware of your surroundings.
Cracked Map Tips Marker 11
Cracked Map Tips: Map Tips Marker 11. This is where the largest clashes occur, in my experience.
Marker 11 is raised ground and wide open to large portions of the map and tons of good cover positions. If you walk here, you will likely be seen by an enemy. However, if you’re only focusing on getting kills, come to this location and keep watch, you’re sure to find someone. To be completely honest, I recommend avoiding marker 11. Instead, watch it from one of the surrounding marker locations and pick off the ‘brave’ (dumb) players that roam into the area.
Safe Airdrop Locations
As a general rule, I have found that it is usually safest to throw out an airdrop marker at one of the match start spawn locations. For some reason, action usually doesn’t occur in these areas. Another rule of thumb would be to wait until you or someone on your team has a Spyplane up. This will allow you to see most of the enemies locations to make sure there are none nearby.
