Conficker Worm Causes Chaos – April 1st.
April fools. Bet you didn’t see that one coming.
For a few days leading up to April first the Conficker Worm has been discussed and feared. People have been talking about it possibly causing problems when it ‘morphs’ on April first. Well, it’s April first, and no.. hell has not broken loose.
While this does not mean it could not do something harmful in the future. I for one would probably expect something to happen April 2nd, if ever. Just seems a little more hacker like to me to throw everyone off by a day.
As some of you may know, this worm is suspected of having infected roughly 15 million computers around the globe. Since its release it has done nothing more than cause problems and modify itself to make it harder to get rid of. While the fact that it hasn’t ‘gotten worse’ may make some of us feel at ease, rest assured that the ‘infected’ around the world do not feel as content.
