Torchlight Cheat Engine Cheats

In order to perform these Torchlight Cheat Engine Cheats, you will need to first download Cheat Engine. In addition, of course, you will need the game Torchlight. I will attempt to be thorough in my description of the necessary steps so that if you have never used Cheat Engine to cheat at a game you will still be able to get it done.

To begin, start Torchlight. Next, start Cheat Engine and click the button with the icon of a computer and a magnifying glass with the glowing border. After clicking the button you will see the Cheat Engine process list. Start searching the Cheat Engine process list for the Torchlight.exe process. (Cheat Engine Tip: Usually this process is near the bottom of the list.) Click on the process name and then click open. To prepare for step 2, return to Torchlight and start a game. You can start this Torchlight game with either a new or existing character. I would recommend using a new Torchlight character just in case anything goes wrong, however, nothing ever has.

In order to use cheat engine to modify a value in Torchlight, you must first use Cheat Engine to locate the address of the value in your computer’s memory. In some cases this can be quite difficult. Values can be stored in several different types. Cheat Engine allows you to search by Binary, Byte, 2 Bytes, 4 Bytes, 8 Bytes, Float, Double, Text, and Array of Bytes. In addition, you can also select to search by All (Byte to Double). Not knowing the value type can make locating the value difficult. And, in some instances, I have been unsuccessful in locating address that should have been found while using the All (Byte to Double) search type.

To find a value, you must have some level of control over the value in-game, and know what the value is, or at least whether it is increasing or decreasing. To learn more, follow the steps below to locate and modify a value in memory.

Ok, so you want to have unlimited money in Torchlight. No problem. First, load the Torchlight process in Cheat Engine. If you don’t know how to do this, follow the two Torchlight Cheat Engine Cheats steps above. Enter Torchlight and find out how much money you have.

Return to Cheat Engine and enter that value in the Value field. Set the Scan Type to Exact Value and the Value Type to 4 Bytes. Now, click the First Scan button. Allow the scan time to finish. To the left in Cheat Engine, you will see a list of Addresses and Values appear. Ignore this for now, and return to Torchlight. Run over to Tarn the Merchant (just above and to the left of your stash in town) and sell an item in your inventory. If you are just starting out on a new character, sell your two identify scrolls. This will increase your money by 14. Verify the amount of money you now have after selling your item(s).

Now, return to Cheat Engine and enter the new amount of money into the Value field, leave all other settings as they are, and click the Next Scan button. You will notice the list of addresses and values to the left get shorter. Again, return to Torchlight. This time, purchase a scroll of identify (cost is 25). This will reduce your current amount of money on hand. Again, make note of this amount and return to Cheat Engine.

You may already notice a Value on the left in Cheat Engine that matches the amount of money you have. Regardless, enter the new value into the Value field and click the Next Scan button. The list should now be reduced to only one Address and Value. That value should match the amount of money you have.

Double click the address to the left and you will see the information has been copied to the bottom of Cheat Engine. From here you have a few options. You can tick the Frozen checkbox which will make Cheat Engine keep the value at whatever it currently is, regardless of money you spend OR EARN in game. That’s right, if you Freeze the value and pickup money in game, you will not actually gain the money. Or, you can right click the item in the list and select Change Record > Value. Change the number and click OK. If you change it to say, 5,000 (don’t input comma).

This is real money that you can spend in Torchlight without any problems. Head on over to Duros the Blade and gamble for some good gear. (Torchlight Tip: Buy the most expensive items he sells and you are likely to get unique items. I got three just while messing around.)

There you have it. We’ve hacked Torchlight using Cheat Engine and you now have unlimited money. If you ever get low, just do it again.

Torchlight Cheat Engine Health and Mana Cheat

In Torchlight, Cheat Engine can be used to freeze your health and mana at their maximum values. This, in essence, would act as god mode and give you unlimited mana. There is still the possibility of dieing however. Although the values are frozen at their maximum, this is achieved by resetting the values to their maximum at a set interval (about once a second I think). So, if you take your full amount of health in damage in 1 second, or in one blow, you can still die.

To show you how to use the Torchlight god mode cheat, I’ll first show you how to freeze your mana, then I will explain the subtle differences in freezing your health.

To freeze your mana at its maximum, you must first find the memory address it uses. Start by loading Torchlight. Make sure your mana is full, and note how much you have at maximum. For this example, lets say this number is 36. Go to Cheat Engine and enter 36 into the Value field, set the Scan Type to Exact Value, and set the Value Type to Float. Click the First Scan button. Allow time for the scan to complete. Now, return to Torchlight and cast a spell until your mana is completely empty, or until you can no longer cast. Once your mana is reduced very low, press the space bar (to pause the game) and return to Cheat Engine. Now, change the Scan Type in Cheat Engine to Decreased Value, click the Next Scan button and let the scan complete. Return to Torchlight and press space again to un-pause the game. Watch your mana until it has increased a couple points and pause the game again (space bar). Return to Cheat Engine and change the Scan Type to Increased Value and click the Next Scan button. Repeat returning to Torchlight and un-pausing the game to refill a few points of mana, pausing the game again, returning to Cheat Engine and clicking the Next Scan button while keeping the Scan Type set to Increased Value. The most important point to this is that your amount of mana increases in between each time you press the Next Scan button. Do this 4 or 5 times, or until you have reduced the number of Addresses in the left pane of Cheat Engine to a small number (below 5). Now, return to Torchlight and wait for your mana to fully refill, or drink a mana potion. Now, you may see your exact amount of mana (36 for this example) to the right of an address in the left pane. If not, change the Scan Type to Exact Value, type 36 in the Value field and click Next Scan. You should be left with only one address in the left pane. If not, start this over from the beginning. Double click the address in the left pane to add it to the list at the bottom. Tick the Frozen checkbox to the left of the address. Now, return to the game and cast a spell. You will likely see your mana level dip slightly, then refill just as quickly to it’s maximum. Congratulations, unlimited mana for you.

Freezing your health works in the exact same way as freezing your mana, as outlined above. The only differences are the way in which you deplete and regenerate your health. Unlike mana, health does not automatically regenerate in Torchlight. Nor is it as easy to reduce as mana. Despite this, it is still possible (and quite easy) to find the health memory address. If you have an item that awards you with a health regeneration rate (X health recovery per second), this will be much easier. The Cracked Core-Ember sometimes sold by Triya in town awards 2 Health Recovery per second when socketed into weapons. I will explain two methods you can use for finding this memory address, one with a health recover item, and one without.

Torchlight Cheat Engine God Mode Cheat: With Health Recovery Item

First, enter Torchlight and find your total current health when the game is paused (to make sure it wont increase while away from the game). Now, switch to Cheat Engine and enter your current health value into the Value field, set the Scan Type to Exact Value, the Value Type to Float, and click the Next Scan button. Once the scan is complete, return to Torchlight and head down to a dungeon. Find an enemy and take damage. Reduce your health to around 50%. Please note that it may be beneficial to set your pet to passive so that an enemy can continue to beat on you until you reach an acceptable health level. Once your health reaches around 50%, kill the enemy, use a Town Portal Scroll and return to town. Now, switch from Torchlight to Cheat Engine. Change the Scan Type to Decreased Value and click the Next Scan button. Switch again, from Cheat Engine to Torchlight, and equip your X health recover per second item. Watch your health increase a few points and then pause the game by hitting space. Switch from Torchlight to Cheat Engine, change the Scan Type to Increased Value, and click the Next Scan button. Repeat this one more time, return to Torchlight, un-pause the game and allow a few points of health to recover. Pause the game, return to Cheat Engine, make sure the Scan Type is set to Increased Value and click the Next Scan button again. You may now be down to only one address and value in the left pane in Cheat Engine. To confirm that this is in fact the correct address, return to Torchlight and drink a health potion or wait until your health has fully recovered. Note your health amount and return to Cheat Engine. Change the Scan Type to Exact Value and enter your current health amount into the Value field. Click the Next Scan button and examine the results in the left pane. If there is only one value left in that pane, that is your health. Double click this address to add it to the bottom pane. In the bottom pane, tick the Frozen checkbox for this address and the value will continually refresh to maximum.

Torchlight Cheat Engine God Mode Cheat: Without Health Recovery Item

Without a health recovery item you can find the health value’s memory address by first making sure your health is full in Torchlight. Next, switch to Cheat Engine, enter that value into the Value field, set the Scan Type to Exact Value, the Value Type to Float, and click the Next Scan button. Let that scan finish, then, return to Torchlight. Head into a dungeon, find an enemy and take some damage. As soon as you see your health bar reduced, press the space bar to pause the game. Confirm that your health has been reduced and that it is below its maximum. Return to Cheat Engine, set the Scan Type to Decreased Value, and click the Next Scan button. Allow the scan time to finish and then return to Torchlight. Un-pause the game and take a little more damage. Pause the game, return to Cheat Engine, confirm the Scan Type is set to Decreased Value, and click Next Scan. Wait for the scan to complete, then repeat these steps until you have only a few addresses in the left pane of Cheat Engine. Then, return to Torchlight, defeat your enemy, and then drink a potion to return your health to full. Note your health level and return to Cheat Engine. The value in the left pane that matches your full health is the memory address we have been looking for. To confirm, set the Scan Type to Exact Value, enter your current health value into the Value field, and click Next Scan. There should only be one Address and Value left in the left pane of Cheat Engine. Double click this address to add it to the bottom pane. In the bottom pane, tick the Frozen checkbox for this address and the value will continually refresh to maximum.
