Farm Town: Tips and Tricks part 1 (Facebook)
Highest earning Farm Town Crops for your Money:
I’ve been looking into exactly which crop from the facebook application game farm town would provide the highest income and which crop would allow for the highest ROI (return on investment). I have also been interested in determining which farm town crop would allow you to gain the most experience. The information, as well as how I obtained it, is below.

I’ve made a spreadsheet for farm town:

As you can see, it’s not 100% complete yet. I still have some more information to input, however.. my findings have been sufficient already. This spreadsheet clearly computes the cost of each crop in farm town, it automatically adds the plowing fee to this cost, it displays the amount of income you will receive from planting this crop, the harvest time, the amount of profit per 1 coin of investment, the profit per day,the profit over the full extent of the harvest time, the XP earned per day, the number of each crop you can buy according to the amount of money you have on hand (has to be entered), the amount of money you will make if you purchased this the total amount of your money in crops, the total cost to buy all crops possible, and the amount of XP earned from a max investment over the full harvest time of the crop. There is other information listed for trees, but it is not complete and it was easy to see the trend appearing with trees.
My Results:
What you begin to see immediately, is that the 1 day crops have a distinct advantage over the 2, or 3 day crops. Because you can plant a new crop each day, you earn experience at a much faster rate. Conversely, the three day crops offer the highest ROI, with Sunflower being the best.
THIS INFORMATION IS NO LONGER CORRECT.
Best crop for gaining Experience: Strawberries
Best crop for gaining Money: Sunflower
THIS INFORMATION IS NO LONGER CORRECT.

one thing that you may have forgotten to consider for maximizing profits is that one day crops (strawberries, potatos) return your profit the very next day. effectively allowing you to invest more the next day, compared to the 3 day cycle of the slower crops like sunflowers. this is comparable to compounding vs. simple interest.

I have the prices that the harvesters get as well and currently can look at the sale prices of trees. I also have data on pumpkins. Let me know if you would like to add the info

@DarkStar:
I’ve gotten both the information for the pumpkins as well as the info for the trees. My next course of business will be to calculate the income potential of trees over crops in the same given amount of space.
Thank you!

@robin:
To my knowledge, all of my calculations are based off of the hired harvest rates. See my new post (part 4) for some updated information.

I am at Level 28 and The pumpkins seem to give me the most per investment. I saved all my money and waited until I had 1,064,884 coins. Then when you buy the big items you get more xp points. I love you spreadsheet. And glad I’m not the only person completley obsessed with this game.
