While I don’t necessarily agree with the technique of overlapping, it is still a valid approach and has been shown to work. For those of you who don’t know, overlapping is when you plow a field which overlaps another plowed field. By doing this you are able to plant more crops in a smaller area. Instead of simply describing the process, I visited youtube and found a good video tutorial.
This wasn’t intended by the designers of the game. I believe this will be remedied at a later point in time, however, for now… it is still working.
Farm Town power leveling
Want to buy your levels? No problem. You just need a good bit of cash on hand.
As some of you may know, there are a couple different ways in which you can earn XP (Experience) in the facebook application game farm town. For instance, plowing a field earns you 1 XP, planting a crop earns you 2 XP. As outlined in my Tips and Tricks part 1, this is the reason that 1 day harvest crops are the best experience earners. You can also earn experience for planting trees you buy, but those are quite expensive. There is another, possibly less known tactic for earning XP. Buying items from the “Barn, Other” category of the store.
Buying your Farm Town levels at the best possible price.
Just the facts.
Cheapest possible plowing / crop combo: Strawberry @ $50 for 3 XP and a $35 profit / day.
Fastest leveling: Buying the Hay Bale from the store @ $50 for 5 XP.
Structure breakdown via spreadsheet:
Buying the Hay Bale may seem useless. In fact, it is. At the point in time of this article, it’s only use is for aesthetics. However, you can delete these after you buy them. Or, if you have earned the Influential Neighbor Trophy you can sell them for $2. Allowing you to buy an amount limited only by the amount of money you have on hand. For instance, I have $78,382, this would allow me to buy 1567 Hay Bales. At 5 XP a piece, this would return 7835 XP. This is enough to take a player from level 0 to 18. Or from 18 to 23. Keep in mind, it’s not really beneficial if you spend all of your money doing this as you wouldn’t have enough money to plant more crops. Unless you have a lot of neighbors that will let you harvest, in farm town crops are where the money is, and it takes money to plant crops.
I’ll outline the best recipe for success using this method in my next post.
I’ve been looking into exactly which crop from the facebook application game farm town would provide the highest income and which crop would allow for the highest ROI (return on investment). I have also been interested in determining which farm town crop would allow you to gain the most experience. The information, as well as how I obtained it, is below.
I’ve made a spreadsheet for farm town:
As you can see, it’s not 100% complete yet. I still have some more information to input, however.. my findings have been sufficient already. This spreadsheet clearly computes the cost of each crop in farm town, it automatically adds the plowing fee to this cost, it displays the amount of income you will receive from planting this crop, the harvest time, the amount of profit per 1 coin of investment, the profit per day,the profit over the full extent of the harvest time, the XP earned per day, the number of each crop you can buy according to the amount of money you have on hand (has to be entered), the amount of money you will make if you purchased this the total amount of your money in crops, the total cost to buy all crops possible, and the amount of XP earned from a max investment over the full harvest time of the crop. There is other information listed for trees, but it is not complete and it was easy to see the trend appearing with trees.
My Results:
What you begin to see immediately, is that the 1 day crops have a distinct advantage over the 2, or 3 day crops. Because you can plant a new crop each day, you earn experience at a much faster rate. Conversely, the three day crops offer the highest ROI, with Sunflower being the best.
