Well I’m looking for a job. Full-time. Know of anyone that’s hiring?
I posted an ad on craigslist under the resumes section, but I do not have much professional experience as a Web / Graphics Designer so I decided to do something a little different to show off my mad skillz.
This is what I posted to craigslist:
As you can see, it is a link which will take you to the live site. Feel free to click the link, it will open in a new tab / window.
I received a reply very shortly after posting, but I don’t believe it is for a full-time position. We shall see however.
Although it will be gone soon, here is the url of the post: http://bellingham.craigslist.org/res/1098600398.html

As mentioned in a few of my previous posts, I’m a Web / Graphics Designer. I’ve been designing websites since the age of 12. Most of these, until recently, weren’t very good quality. However, as I progressed through school, in my opinion, I got better and better.
http://www.wallpapers-backgrounds.com: my most recently completed site.
This site was primarily developed to showcase my graphic design skills. As I’m still a student, people run in terror at the thought of hiring me, so I decided to put some of my work online for them to review.
http://www.professionalservicetrade.com: Yet another recently completed site.
This site was inspired by my wife. She is a massage therapist who owned her own business up until the end of last month. She arranged a few trades in return for other services. I thought it would be cool if there was a site dedicated to trying to connect professionals with each other for the purpose of trading services. While I have no money for promotion of this site, I’m hoping for word-of-mouth style marketing. I know there are people out there that would be interested in this, they just need to know about it.
My design portfolio: This is my design portfolio, created for a class.
While this is my design portfolio, it has not been updated since I created it for my class. Admittedly, some of the work is not of the highest quality. However, if you’re viewing this post after it has been posted for a bit, perhaps I’ve updated it already.
As time goes by I will create more sites and post about them. Leave a comment, let me know what you think.

As the title states.
I’m currently attending college and I’m about to finish my ATA in MIT as a Web / Graphics Designer. In an attempt to earn some extra cash, I’ve decided to enter a few design contests online. If you’re not familiar with exactly what a design contest is… well, I was going to link to one of the sites that does this, but they don’t deserve the traffic, so I’ll just explain.
Ok, if you don’t know, a design contest is essentially where someone in need of a design service, as in graphics or web design, posts a brief explaining what it is he/she needs or wants. Then, stupid people, myself included, foolishly do the work on the sometimes 1 in 1000 chance that we will “win”, and earn the prize money.
This process only works to benefit the person in need of the design. For every one contest, there ends up being one happy person, and many people who wasted their time designing just so the purchaser can say… “Sorry, it’s just not my style.”
Please, heed my advice designers. While it may seem like a good idea at the time, don’t do this. It is encouraging those in need of design services to seek there results in this manner, thus further decreasing the amount of quality work that is available. And not to mention, the majority of these contest’s prizes are well under where they should be.
I have entered many over the past week, and won few. I’m done with these contests, and you should be too.
That rhymed.

Edit: Thank you for the comment regarding http://www.no-spec.com/. I’d like to point out that NO!SPEC has a good way that you can represent your feeling in regard to design contests.
Supporting the cause!
